Appalachian Kentucky Bluegrass
Appalachian Kentucky Bluegrass is a new and improved variety. It is a rhizomatous, sod-forming, and cool-season grass. It has shown to have early spring green-up, resistance to prevalent turf grass diseases, and has good overall turf quality. It offers high density and a dark green color, which is an excellent choice for home lawns, parks, playgrounds, sod farms, and other turf applications. Appalachian was developed with quick establishment in mind. It is wear tolerant and repairs itself by rhizomes. It may be seeded alone or in mixtures with other species, such as perennial ryegrass, creeping red fescue, chewings fescue, or tall fescue. Kentucky bluegrass gives lawns a great look by spreading to fill in open areas or thickening existing stands.
