The first turf-type perennial ryegrasses were released in the USA in the early 1960’s. Since that time it has become the most widely planted turfgrass in all of western Oregon, western Washington, and the lower portion of western British Columbia in Canada. It is also used extensively in the interior portions of the Pacific Northwest. From home lawns to athletic fields to golf course tees, fairways, and rough areas this is an important grass for all turf managers. (Oregon State University)
