Water Wizard Bluegrass Blend
The varieties in the Water Wizard blend were specially selected to recover fast under high wear, produce a uniform playing surface for consistent play, and a dark uniform color that will accent a professionally maintained turf. Meets current TWCA formulation requirements with 70% of the mixture/blend containing cultivars proven to reduce water usage, excellent turf density, adapts to any mowing height, greens up early in the spring, and maintains color late into the fall.
Water Wizard Blend was built on genetic diversity, and evaluated under playing conditions. The Water Wizard formulation was developed to deal with a wide range of turf conditions, but we also wanted a blend that would put less demand on the grounds crew. That is why it was important to have varieties with uniform growth habits. The Turfgrass Water Conservation Alliance (TWCA) varieties are the other important piece of the formulation because the ability to use less water will be important in the future. Currently the varieties Water Wizard, Tirem, and Full Moon meet the rigorous trialing requirements to earn TWCA Drought Tolerant Qualification.
